The post will be headquartered in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.




The Role Responsibilities:

As a Tax and Treasury Manager, you will be able to:

Tax Management:
  • Ensure that all tax returns are prepared and submitted on time, accurately, and in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Monitor changes to tax rules and advise management on the ramifications and necessary modifications.
  • Create and implement tax strategies to maximize tax advantages and reduce risks.
  • Coordinate responses to audit queries and ensure that unresolved recommendations are effectively closed.
  • Communicate with external tax consultants and authorities to ensure compliance and address difficulties.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and tax records for both internal and external examination.



Treasury operations:
  • Oversee daily cash management to ensure liquidity and efficient fund utilization throughout the firm.
  • Manage banking partnerships to ensure competitive financial services and meet strategic finance requirements.
  • Forecast and monitor cash flows, analyze patterns, and make financial recommendations.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies for surplus funds in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Ensure that payments and funding requests are processed on schedule and according to internal processes.
  • Enforce compliance with treasury standards and processes while limiting financial.



The requirements for the role

To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in finance, tax management, or a related area is required.
  • Chartered Accountant and Taxation credentials.
  • Tax consulting experience with one of the Big Four audit companies.
  • Tax accounting and IFRS expertise and experience.
  • Tax management experience.
  • Broad industry exposure.
  • 4+ years of expertise in finance and taxation.



Core Competencies and Technical Skills:
  • Tax Expertise: Thorough understanding of local and international tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
  • Treasury Management: Solid understanding of cash flow forecasts, liquidity management, investment strategies, and banking operations.
  • Financial Acumen: The ability to read financial statements, create budget inputs, and evaluate tax and treasury consequences for corporate success.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of audit standards, regulatory frameworks, and risk mitigation methods.
  • ERP and Financial Systems: Knowledge of systems such as SAP or other treasury and tax management platforms.
  • Analytical thinking involves sharp problem-solving abilities and data-driven decision-making.



Strategic and Collaborative Skills:
  • Cross-functional Communication: The ability to collaborate effectively across departments such as finance, audit, human resources, and legal.
  • Leadership and Influence: Demonstrated ability to manage projects or teams and persuade stakeholders to adopt best practices.
  • Policy and Process Development: Ability to establish and improve internal procedures for compliance, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Audit and advisory collaboration: Previous experience working with auditors, consultants, and external organizations to address recommendations and queries.
